Abrimos esta edición con un resumen de la 111.ª reunión de la Conferencia Internacional del Trabajo celebrada en Ginebra el pasado mes de junio. Tras mantener amplias discusiones, los interlocutores sociales adoptaron una nueva recomendación sobre aprendizajes de calidad, así como nuevas resoluciones sobre una transición justa y la protección de los trabajadores.
Pese a que los salarios mínimos son un tema de estudio recurrente por parte de Eurofound debido a la inflación sin precedentes que sufren los países de todo el mundo, están surgiendo nuevos temas. La inteligencia artificial no es el futuro, sino el presente. Ya está influyendo en el modo en que vivimos y trabajamos. Una transformación que la recopilación de datos de la OCDE de 2022 demostró ser menos amenazante para el mercado laboral de lo que se esperaba, pero que, no obstante, crea incertidumbre en torno a asuntos éticos. Otro tema candente que pueden encontrar en esta edición se relaciona con la economía de plataformas. Mientras que el Tribunal Superior de California debe pronunciarse sobre la constitucionalidad de la relación laboral de los trabajadores de plataformas definida en su Propuesta 22, el Gobierno de Singapur ha aceptado abrir un diálogo social con el fin de lograr un nuevo marco legislativo para los trabajadores de plataformas.
Entretanto, el cumplimiento del Acuerdo de París ocupa un lugar prioritario en las agendas de los responsables de la formulación de políticas. Por ello, el Gobierno de los Países Bajos ha adoptado nuevas medidas que obligan a las empresas a informar sobre la movilidad de las personas en relación con el trabajo. Al otro lado del mundo, las cuestiones sociales irrumpen en los programas gubernamentales. Corea del Sur tiene la tasa de fecundidad más baja del mundo desde 2013, lo que amenaza la estabilidad de la población del país. Por ello, HanmiGlobal decidió tomar cartas en el asunto y ha desarrollado una nueva política interna de bienestar para apoyar al Gobierno del país en sus intentos por impulsar el crecimiento de la población.
El desarrollo sostenible es un imperativo mundial, y las empresas desempeñan un papel fundamental como catalizadores del cambio en la sociedad. Tanto la creación de un entorno propicio como la promoción del diálogo social en la formulación de políticas debe seguir siendo una prerrogativa para los gobiernos.
