Dos informes internacionales abren esta edición. Uno de ellos es el reciente informe de referencia de la OIT«Perspectivas sociales y del empleo en el mundo:Tendencias 2023», que analiza la repercusión de la desaceleración económica en el mercado laboral mundial. El segundo, publicado por Adecco y titulado Paying attention: A Report on Agency Work and Wages, ofrece un interesante análisis sobre los salarios en el sector del empleo temporal.
En esta edición también se incluyen los últimos acontecimientos sobre diálogo social que han tenido lugar en todo el mundo. Informamos sobre un programa de transición justa en los países de Oriente Medio y el Norte de África; la adopción de un acuerdo en materia de seguridad en el lugar de trabajo en Pakistán, y la firma del primer convenio colectivo en Francia en el sector de las plataformas de viajes compartidos que fija una tarifa mínima por viaje. Además, presentamos un artículo sobre una carta conjunta enviada por las organizaciones de interlocutores sociales sectoriales europeos a la Comisión Europea manifestando sus preocupaciones por la revisión de las normas de financiación de los comités europeos de diálogo social sectorial.
En otras noticias, en esta edición destacamos la legislación (bloqueada desde 2017) que finalmente ha sido aprobada en el Senado de Chile y que reduce significativamente la jornada laboral. Asimismo, hablaremos de las nuevas normas para los trabajadores temporales y las agencias de trabajo temporal en el Estado norteamericano de Nueva Jersey.
La protección de la salud de los empleados también ocupa un importante lugar en la sección de decisiones judiciales. Analizamos una sentencia del Tribunal de Justicia de la Unión Europea sobre la obligación de los empleadores de proporcionar dispositivos de corrección de la vista a los empleados que utilizan pantallas, y comentamos dos sentencias sobre el alcance del deber de proteger a los empleados con discapacidad y los límites a la hora de salvaguardar sus puestos de trabajo. El Tribunal de Justicia también aclara el sentido de la prohibición de la discriminación basada en la orientación sexual.
El tema de la salud mental aparece de nuevo en esta edición, con una orientación ofrecida por el organismo regulador nacional de vehículos pesados de Australia.
Asimismo, analizamos la eficacia y el alcance de las políticas activas del mercado laboral en Finlandia.
Como siempre, concluimos con algunas iniciativas privadas, una de ellas sobre flexibilidad en la organización del trabajo, y otra relacionada con la adopción de un acuerdo de empresa sobre responsabilidad social.
